RECENT NEWS: John recently wrote the score for “Mariel,” an Afro-Cuban musical set during the 1980 Mariel Boatlift. The piece premiered in April at The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, where it was awarded The Macy’s Prize. It just wrapped up a second production (this one developmental) at the University of Hartford. John’s collaborators are co-bookwriters David Gonzalez and Henry Fonte, who also directed. Stay tuned for future plans.
The Jack Sprat Low-Fat World Tour” is in its third year of touring. Commissioned by the American Cancer Society, the show's purpose is to help change the junk food mentality among our kids. Written with Michael “Entertainment Tonight” Mark, it is a 3-person hip-hop extravaganza that's been playing to K-6 audiences throughout the country. It is booked through TheaterWorks/USA atwww.theaterworksusa.org.
